his clinical forum on the identification and management of dysphagia in the public schools is designed to address processes and issues related to offering care for children with swallowing disorders in the public schools. The goals of the forum are to stimulate thinking about: (a) the procedures for screening, assessment, and treatment of children with swallowing disorders in the public school setting; (b) the issues involved in establishing a dysphagia program in a school system; and (c) the legal, ethical, and continuing education aspects of dysphagia management with which clinicians in the public school should be familiar. Each of the authors contributing to this clinical forum has significant experience in the particular aspect of dysphagia management being described.
